HAND-WOVEN WARAJI
Hand-woven Waraji Sandals
Our first in-stock costume item to be featured is for your feet! Waraji are a style of straw sandals traditionally worn
in Japan and featured in a number of popular series where the characters wear more traditonal-style costumes. Worn with tabi,
these sandals can complete a rugged Japanese samurai's outfit or just be worn around the house. Woven of 100% jute twine by hand, they
come in three standard sizes.
WOVEN JUTE WARAJI
Standard sizes: Small (12" long by 4" wide), Medium (14" long by 4" wide), Large (16" long by 4.5" wide)*
To determine your size: DO NOT RELY ON SHOE SIZE!! Measure your foot, bare or in a sock, from the tip of your longest toe to
the end of your heel, sole only. SMALL: fits feet 7.5" to 8.75"
MEDIUM: fits feet 9" to 10.75"
LARGE: fits feet 11" to 12.75"
CUSTOM SIZES: yes, we can weave specially petite, wide, or extra-large waraji, but these are not held in stock. Please negotiate
specialty sizes with SLC and allow a minimum of 7 business days for turnaround.
*measurements are approximate. Please note that each sandal is hand-woven and there will be
variances in measurements.
AVAILABILITY: if waraji are in stock, they ship in about 2 business days. If stock is low/out, they ship
in about 5 business days. Contact SLC for more information or to order.
Need tabi? Some of the best prices on stretch tabi socks are at AsianIdeas.com! Note,
Strange Land Costuming is not affiliated in any way with AsianIdeas.com - that is simply where we have bought our tabi for our personal costumes.
